About National Ski Patrol
Since 1938, the National Ski Patrol (NSP) has been a leading authority on mountain safety. As a nonprofit organization, NSP is dedicated to serving the public and the outdoor recreation industry by providing education, training, and accreditation for emergency care and safety service providers.
Today, NSP is comprised of more than 30,000 members serving over 650 patrols nationwide, including alpine, Nordic, and auxiliary patrollers. Our members work tirelessly at ski and snowboard areas across northern Michigan to enhance the experience for outdoor enthusiasts.
Through the efforts of NSP and its volunteers, nearly 40 lives are saved each year, and more than 160,000 individuals receive free care from patrollers. For over 75 years, NSP has supported the outdoor recreation community by delivering emergency care training, rescue services, and safety education.
